Foothill Marching Band and Guard Families,

The “trucker team” for Foothill Marching Band and Color Guard is a vital part of our marching program.
This loyal team helps to coordinate and transport equipment needed for our various competitions, including props, uniforms, battery and pit instruments, golf carts, foodie supplies, and the like. If it doesn’t fit under a bus, then the truckers transport it! We work in conjunction with the directors, the percussion students, the foodie team leads and the uniform team leads. We also do minor maintenance work and other things to keep the equipment and band performances functioning well.  Being a member of this team provides a great opportunity to meet other parents, see a lot of the marching shows, and spend time with the kids!
Members of the trucking crew enjoy free admission to the marching performances that they work.

Positions include:
* Loading/Unloading Helpers: anyone who can move a cart, lift a box, load a truck. Loading is typically done the Friday evening or at times on the Saturday morning before a competition. Unloading is usually done around 11pm-midnight at FHS after a competition. These helpers are based at FHS and may or may not go with the group to the competition based on availability and preference.
* Drivers and Co-pilots: anyone who can drive a box truck, owns a car that can pull a small trailer with a golf cart, or is just happy to ride with a trucker team driver to help navigate and communicate via walkie talkie. These helpers stay for the duration of a competition. There is down time during a competition with this position.
* Competition Site Helpers: anyone who can move a cart, lift a box, unload/load a truck or drive a golf cart. This job is performed at the various competitions. We unload gear and stage our “FHS Camp” including uniform and food dining areas, we prep equipment and various props to be transported to the field, haul gear and water to student practice areas and any other odd job that may present itself. At the end of the evening, we load everything back up to go back to FHS.
* Show Prop and Push on/off Crew: hands to push props and pit equipment on/off the field for performance, don’t worry everything has wheels…it’s super easy!
* Other Odd jobs: helping pickup/drop off rental trucks, filling portable gas cans, checking/filling tire pressure on golf carts and trailers, verifying gear (like generators, extension cords, pop ups and tables) is in working order and that we have enough of everything on hand ahead of loading day.
