Hello Amazing Band Families! What a great performance at the Homecoming Game by our FHS Marching Band!! This email is going to include an update on volunteering, the Weekly Schedule and information about Del Mar. It is critical for all of you to review the entire email – so you are informed.
Volunteering
Thank you to those families who have already signed up for their shifts at our four big volunteer events!
At this point only 60% of shifts have been taken, we have a big number of families that have not yet picked their shifts. Please remember, this year we are shooting for EVERYONE’S volunteer participation.
The initial sign-up process will be available until Sunday September 29, 2019. Starting Monday, September 30, 2019 – the Band Booster Leadership will work to fill the various open slots, assigning by section. We will then communicate those assignments out to the families that have not made a choice.
All Families are asked to sign up for:
- Two (2) at Foothill Fall Band Review
One (1) Bingo Shift (per ensemble, e.g. if your student is in Wind Ensemble and Jazz A – please sign up for a bingo shift for each ensemble)
One (1) at either Winter Show OR…. or the Crab Feed

Weekly Schedule
- Tuesday
- 530-9pm Full Band Rehearsal*evening is expected to be cold, please bring a jacket
- Thursday – Picture Day and 1st Full Rehearsal Thursday
- 300pm bring snack
- 330pm Change into full uniform
- 415pm Group Picture
- 445pm Section Pictures
- After section pictures all members will proceed to field for rehearsal still in uniform
- 545pm Basics (in bottom half)
- 630pm music warm up
- 700pm ensemble
- 800pm jackets on / practice walk on and walk off
- 815pm Run Thru
- 830pm Change out of uniform
- 900pm dismissal
- Friday
- 300pm Front Ensemble will load trailer after school
- Saturday
- 1st show in Del Mar!!!!!!!!!! Saturday itinerary attached. Competing groups. Wind Ensemble / Jazz / Parade / Field Show
